  2. Thank you so much for this pattern my daughter will love it. It is beautiful you are very gracious to have shared it.

  3. I work a college and our mascot is an owl, for Christmas I always make a home craft to give my colleagues usually owl related and this would be perfect if I can find lots of old books. How long does it take to complete one book? Thanks for sharing :)

    • If you discover this craft, he first one will be the longest.
But you will quickly get the technic (and the “virus” ;-) ). There is not much sheets, a couple of hours is enough.

  4. hello dont know if you can help
would love to try owl but do not understand markings =11,35 13,35 ??? what do they mean is it 11.3 and 13.3

    • Of course I can!
In France we are using commas for decimal numbers, read them as a point.
      To obtain smooth curves the pattern uses 2 decimals : 11.35 = 11cm + 3mm + 1/2mm (trace your mark between the 2 ruler’s mm marks).

  6. Thank you for sharing the owl. I made this a while ago, with my friend Anne. We really enjoyed it, it’s great for a beginner. I’ve printed it again because I’m going to show another friend, Gail how to do book folding. She’s really looking forward to trying this, especially as it’s an owl. Thanks so much for inspiring a new craft in me, and my friends!
    Cheers xx

  7. Many Many thanks for your kindness in sharing your patterns as I am a learner they are great as I shall now go on to purchase

  8. Hello, I have a question. For a 21.5 cm book how do I fold the pages as “Upper Mark: 18.75cm, Lower mark: 19.85cm”? Wouldn’t that mean the book would need to be at least 39cm high? Sorry, I really want to make this but I’m a bit confused :)
    Thank you for your help,

    • The owl can be done on a 21.5cm book. It can be a bit tricky to make some small folds, then use a point to “engrave” the paper, it will be easier.

  9. I have just started bookfolding done one! love this owl my mam is a big fan of owls so I’m hopping to do this as a surprise xx

  13. I have just down loaded your owl but do not know how to to read the pattern as I have just started and only used 1 sheet two folds this has sheet 1 and sheet 132 with same measurements beside each other. Please help as I love your patterns.

    • The owl is symmetric. To make a shorter pattern, Aline gave identical measures on the same line.
Start by reading the first column (1, 2, 3…). When you reach the 66th sheet read the second column going up.
      (sheet 67 = sheet 66 / sheet 68 = sheet 65 / sheet 69 = sheet 64…).

  14. Thankyou for these lovely patterns. I am about to start my second design but am having problems with the measurements. I am not sure how to measure 6.60 cm for example. Please can you help.

  15. Thank you so much for the owl pattern, It will be my first attempt at book art.
I will let you know how I get on.

  16. Thank you very much for the owl pattern. It gives me great motivation to go on folding and also trying to create own pattern.
But until this I have to go on trying. The computer program was not so easy, so I will try with the version by hand, next week I will buy the graph paper.
    Best wishes,
