Serge 10
A special thanks to Serge. He sent me his “heart” folded book table of measures.

Notice :
– sheets are 18 cm height,
– the heart is made with 144 sheets.

Good luck, it’s not a hard work I’ve done it (see the picture).”

Serge “heart” folded book pattern.

I do think it’s useful !!

FAQ

Measure your book sheets height, subtract the pattern heigh and divide the result by 2. Add this result to all marks. Count your book number of sheets, subtract the pattern number of sheets and divide the result by 2. The result tells you on which sheet you should start your folding.

  1. thank you for my pattern. this craft is so cool thanks again
do you have all hearts patterns? or tell me where to find them?

    • To find all the folded book posts, click on the “Folded book” tag on the right sidebar or on the “Folded book” tab under my website title.
You can also find some others on my online shop.
      Enjoy :-)

  2. Merci beaucoup pour le patron! This is one of the first of your patterns I tried. It turned out great so I kept trying others :)

    • 7.35 cm = 7cm + 3 mm + 1/2 mm (make your mark in the middle of 2 mm lines).
Please don’t abbreviate, I’m not native English ;-)

  3. Help!
I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. Each part of the page that should make up the heart is small and wrong?! Could you make a video tutorial as I don’t know how to add a picture to show my error?!
    Thanks

  4. Your designs are wonderful. Thank you so much for being generous and sharing them. I can’t wait to start folding.

  5. Thanks for your wonderful site and sharing these wonderful patterns.
Have done basic ones so far but just had to try something a bit more demanding.
    Thank you

    • Thanks!
Whatever the pattern, it’s always the same : 2 marks on a sheet for doing 2 folds. Don’t hesitate to make the book you like ;-)

  6. Thank you so much for sharing, I loved folding the heart and am really happy with it.
Do you have a pattern for “mum” or “friend”???

    TIA, thanks in advance

  11. Hi, very impressed with your website and instructions.
I was wondering if you would share your pattern for heart and love as indicated on PDF.
This is extremely generous of you and much appreciated. x

  12. Hello,
    Wauw this seems nice!!!
I want to do this to, but I suck at computerprograms, I never understand them… So please, can you help me?!?!
My book is 20 cm high, so that means I should add 1 cm to your heights, that is something I get…
But my book has 180 pages, which means 90 sheets… What can I do now?
    Please help me

    • You are right for adding 1cm to ALL marks.
But if your book has only 90 sheets, you can’t fold that pattern ! (and any other I share…).
You have to find another book with, at least, 144 SHEETS.

  13. Can you please send me the pattern for the heart shaped folded book ?
I want to make some for my friend’s wedding.

  14. I made a heart out of a 72 sheets magazine…. thanks a tonne
Could you please send me the calculations for a book wid 24 cm height and 426 sheets ??

    • Sorry, I can’t make free pattern on demand, it takes too much time…
But you can do it yourself with my tuto !

    • Did you take time to read the F.A.Q. ?
Please don’t abbreviate your English, it’s too difficult for those who are not English…

    • You’re the first to notice it. As it’s made with two same halves, you should have found the missing sheets… ;-)
Although I change the Pdf, you can re-load it.

      • Hahah yes I figured it out, but only after I got confused did I realize I can count backwards to find the missing marks. It turned out great!
I want to fold this pattern again but this time my book is bigger. Is there an easy way to add to the marks to get a heart that is bigger for my book or is it best to create a new pattern for a bigger heart?
I was thinking maybe if I add the same amount of mm or cm I can get the same shape but bigger, do you think that will work?
        Have a merry Christmas!

        • To have a bigger heart, you should decrease upper marks and increase lower marks. But your heart would be higher but not wider… to keep the ratio with the height you have to add sheets !
I think it would be easier to create a new pattern ;-)

  15. Hi!
I’m trying to do a heart folded, and I can’t undestand from “Zoom until the ruler show each pixel. Place guides just before and after the first sheet (1st black column).”
Could you send me the heart pdf? I’m trying to do on a book with 200 pages and 20,4 cm.
Shoul I do the heart on the top or middle of the sheet?
    Thanks a lot!

    • This step is when you have finished your pattern and want to calculate marks.
Did you look at the photo ? The guides allow you to recover pixels numbers you have to divide by 12 (you can use Serge conversion table).
You can download the “heart pattern” (link in the post).
If you want to center it, just add 1.2cm to all marks (look at the F.A.Q.)
